Most of the time people tend to associate jewellery with metal like gold silver, etc; they also associated with diamonds, and flashy expensive stones. They believe that 'real' jewellery is made of precious materials. This  is not true because I believe that good jewellery can be made out of any materials, whether it is from recycle material or precious metals. The designer Silvia Beccaria makes use of non-recycled, anonymous, marginal materials like PVC, rubber, plastic, latex, polyurethane. Jewellery like this allows one to express your personality and style, where at times the standard commercial jewellery  to be more of wealth status, religious purposes, and social status. Jewellery that includes other material are seen more as today's fashion trend and its very creative and arty.

The reason why I chose this perception is because when ever I talk to people about jewellery, the first thing that they think of is expensive flashy metals and stones. They believe that contemporary jewellery is cheap unless it has precious metal and stones. This I would want to change of people that think like that, because I believe that contemporary jewellery is so beautiful and it is able to complement many with there personalities, and it reflects alot of today's society  and what we are.

Working on this project was very interesting. The topic itself made think beyond my my normal way of thinking with regards to designing. I felt more free and playful as I was designing it. Making the piece was had its challenges but it was not that difficult. only thing that I realized as I was manufacturing my piece is when i was soldering the ball on the bottom plate, was to make sure that it was soldered properly and that everything was held together before cutting the tabs off , because I did not do that and when I cut off the tabs some of the pieces cam loose and had to re-solder  the other pieces back on.  Overall the project was a success as managed to finish the piece in time and i learnt to work on a time scale so that even if something goes wrong you still have time to correct it.

Post Two

First step from my reference

First step from my reference

Shape was formed from the first two pictures

Come from the the first two pictures with elements from another drawing

Played with alignment and pattern, made use of these elements in the picture above

Tried alignment and unity to from different shapes

This drawing derived from the pattern on the top, arranged harmoniously

This derived from the third picture, will be the second layer of my pendant

Will be the layer on top of the second layer

Top picture is the bottom layer, circle will be the centre piece on the bottom layer

Paper prototype

Final drawing of  how the piece will look

Firstly I played exploring with the basic shapes to find different shapes. I used forms of arrangement along the line to make patterns, to try and form some form of movement that will lead to a focal point.I have arranged the elements in a harmonious arrangement and I repeated the objects with in the harmonious arrangement.

Circus Cannetille Piece

Post One

Negative and Positive forms of the shapes

Shape and Form of the body

Line and Movement of the body and shapes

Pattern and Alignment

Space and Movement to develop shapes

The inspiration that I took from my reference were line, shape, form, movement, pattern, alignment, proportion, unity, balance and space, In the first picture I looked at the negative and positive spaces and  what kind of shapes the form or how I could transform them in to the shape that I thought it could relate to. The second and third picture I looked at the form of the body and what shape does the body conform into, and I also looked at it in a form of it in flat shape and not 3D. In these pictures I followed the lines to see if I could get any shape. In my fourth reference, I looked at the alignment of the shapes and I also took inspiration from the shapes of the lights. The last reference I also used the internal and external spaces to figure some of my shapes and forms. My design has quite a few of unity and repetition of my patterns, but I also made sure that I keep it well balanced to the visual weight and that the movement of  it flows into a focal point.

The cat nurse

Once there was a cat nurse called Mrs Niemann the green eyed nurse, she loved to working in the hospital, but her favorite place that she love spend a lot of her time was in the children ward, she  had a great passion for the children and always wanted to put a smile on their faces and give them hope.

Nurse Niemann was able to transform the sterile environment into a comforting haven, inspiring healing place through her magical green sparkling eyes.

One night ther was a little girl called Mary. Mary was suffering from cancer. On that night Mary was very sick, on the verge of death. Mary told Nurse Niemann she is scared she is going to die and leave her mother alone, can Nurse Nieman please help her not to die. These words broke nurse Niemanns heart so badly,” that she said today I will have to use my special mas with its special healing powers to help this little girl”.
So nurse Niemann put on her magical gear and her mask appeared on her face, she walked up to the little girl and said: “don’t be afraid my little child just look into my green eyes.” So the little girl looked into the green eyes with fear, as her eyes connected with nurse Niemmans green eyes, they eyes twinkled with stars in them. The little started feel shivers throughout her body, which gave her a calmness and made her to fall asleep and the healing took place in little Mary’s body. After all this everything disappeared and nurse Niemann was back to her normal self, and little Mary was fast asleep with no pain.
The Morning sun came up, little Mary got up, she couldn’t understand what had happened but she could no longer feel the pain. She jumped off her bed and started running around the ward and sing that she is healed and she no longer has any pain.

Doctors could not believe it, but only nurse Niemann knew what had happened, but she was very happy to see little Mary happy again,
